The Gladius was one of the most popular weapon types among Roman Legions and Gladiators alike. Its short, stif blade is good for breaking a spear and intense forward stabbing thrusts. The gladius ruled close combat fighting for many centuries. The blade is made of 1095/15N20 Damascus Steel that has been folded & layered approximately 400-520. The handle is made of Rose wood with steel and brass spacers. Sword comes with an included leather sheath.
